COVID-19 Traffic Light Access Control Systems
Queens Head Kettlesing
This country pub have installed one our new Portable Traffic Light Access Control Systems to manage the number of people using their toilets at any one time and help prevent the spread of COVID 19.
The system is battery powered and wireless. It can be installed in minutes and gives a visual indication of toilet occupancy. There is also an audio clip which reminds customers to wash their hands.
Can be configured in many ways to suit the venue.

Outdoor Pub Beer Garden Upgrade
The Queens Head has improved their Toilet Traffic Light System by adding super bright outdoor traffic lights so customers in the beer garden can easily see from a distance if the toilets are free.
It also means customers can queue outdoors safely without having to go inside to check if the toilets are free.
They have installed movement sensors in the toilet areas which along with the door frame direction sensors ensure the toilets are fully unoccupied before the traffic lights turn green.
Fish Cottage, Sandsend
The Fish Cottage in Sandsend approached Automation 4 Ltd to find a solution to their toilet access and queue management.
The seafood restaurant also has a busy takeaway with outdoor seating. They wanted to ensure customers inside the restaurant have preferential access to their toilets and queue customers outside, only letting them in one at a time to access the toilets.
We came up with the idea of two traffic lights, one for inside the restaurant and a delayed traffic light outside. The internal traffic light turns red when a person enters the toilet, as does the external traffic light. However, when a person exits the toilet, the external traffic light does not go green instantaneously. The internal one does allowing customers inside the restaurant to access the toilets first, holding the external traffic light on red. If the toilet has not been used for 15 seconds then the external traffic light goes green allowing one person from outside to access the toilet.Delighted Customer
Fish Cottage are delighted by the system as it frees up a member of staff who they previously had managing the toilets.
The system also stops people queuing inside the restaurant next to customers eating by providing an orderly queue outside at the traffic light.
The external traffic
light has clear signage on a pole which says “Please wait for green light
